Volunteer for Miami

We believe the best way to enhance the quality of life for residents of the City of Miami is to involve its residents. If you have an interest in the future of Miami, you should become a volunteer.

What does volunteering for Miami look like? Here are some examples:

  • Mentor a high school student. Invest 30 minutes per week during an academic school year to support a high-school student transition to college and receive college scholarships.   Free training and resources materials are provided to all mentors.
  • Become a tax preparer. Learn a new skill and help low to middle income Miami families to prepare basic tax returns. Volunteers are needed from January 26 to April 15 (a total of 20 hours during the period). Each volunteer receives training and an IRS certification
  • Protect the Environment. Join a group of committed volunteers and elected officials that dedicate one day each year (on Arbor Day) to add to the beauty of the City and conserve the environment by planting trees across the City.
